11/09 Patch Notes
14 November 2023
Maintenance
Date: November 9, 2023 (Thursday)
Duration: 3:50 AM ~ 10:00 AM KST (6 hours 10 minutes). Servers will be up at 1 AM UTC.
Developer Notes
Through this maintenance, the Secret Dungeons will be revamped and the new secret dungeon 'Deep Sea Passage: Emergency' will be added.
This year, along with the announcement about Secret Dungeon revamp, we decided to keep them open at all times.
Adventurers have been struggling with making ED, and many people hoped for content that would let them farm ED according to their Combat Power.
After the Secret Dungeon revamp, only one person will be able to enter, and in order to support ED/EXP farming, they will be rewarded a fixed amount of ED and EXP.
Since we have to consider adventurers at different stages of progression, after being rearranged and adjusted, Secret Dungeons will now be divided into 3 new tiers, and the Combat Power requirement for dungeons such as 'Transporting Tunnel: Contaminated Area' and 'Velder's Hallucination' will be increased to match the new difficulty.
In addition, as the dungeons are limited to one-person entry, the stage format of the existing Secret Dungeons will be changed to reduce play fatigue.
Due to the revamp, existing Secret Dungeon equipment and accessories will no longer be obtainable.
Instead, you will receive early growth equipment that can be used to clear the 1~99 section.
Secret Dungeon Entry Permits will also no longer be consumed, and no longer obtainable.
You can exchange existing items at NPC Ariel for other items.
If the tickets were received via events, they cannot be exchanged.
The new dungeon (Deep Sea Passage: Emergency) can be enjoyed by adventurers of Combat Power of minimum 5,000,000.
Items such as new accessories and titles will also be added to the new Secret Dungeons.
We plan to add even more Secret Dungeon with higher Combat Power levels in the future, and rewards will gradually increase accordingly.
Along with the Secret Dungeon revamp, the ED rewards of some other dungeons are also adjusted to keep it consistent with Combat Power.
Secret Dungeon Revamp
The Secret Dungeons are revamped to solo dungeons, available to characters of Lv. 99 or higher.
The amount of stages is reduced in comparison to existing Secret Dungeons, and the dungeons are divided into tiers based on Combat Power.
Please pick the one that's most suitable according to the Combat Power of the character you're playing.
For more information, please refer to the Guides section on the official page regarding Secret Dungeons that will be published on Thursday, November 9.

New Early Growth Section Equipment
Due to the patch on July 6, 2023 (Thursday), many low-value items that were acquired in the early growth character period were removed to save space in the inventory.
Today's patch will improve the issue of being rewarded too many Equipment cubes and will combine them into one.
Due to the Secret Dungeon revamp, Secret Dungeon gear and accessories can no longer be obtained.
You can receive the new equipment through the Epic Quest '[Dungeon] To become stronger!'. This gear's power grows proportionally to your character's level.
The Adventurer Equipment Cubes, which were previously paid by completing Epic Quests for each region, will be removed.
Due to this, the Epic Quest ED reward will increase by the amount of ED received when selling these cubes' contents.

6 new Training Dummies will be added to the Free Training.
3 types of wooden dummies (boss, no defense): large, extra large, elongated

I'm going to make a prediction about the upcoming character.
Her name is Amy. Or at least something similar to it.
This prediction is based on the fact that most of the playable characters have short and simple English names.
Well... you didnt predict anything xD The new char is Lithia, a pickaxe user (?)
I'm aware, I saw her trailer pretty quickly after it dropped.
Making a wrong prediction and not predicting anything are two different things. I did make a prediction, it just wasn't correct.
This just hit me, but what about the Prof. Pho Secret Dungeon quests? What happened to those?
Holy ####! Kog never ceases to surprise when it really wants to screw players. Of course, everyone has 10kk damage + ERP to farm tirnog dungeons and above. IF a dungeon in Tirnog needs 2kk to enter, it is because you would need at least 3.5kk of CP + adaptability to clean without waste 5 mins or more. Also: the balance made for Luciel is ridiculous. Completely bullcrap.
I know I'm late on saying this, but I don't like how they're making Lu/Ciel's Bravery Skills consume 300MP now. Imo, that should remain exclusive to Demersio.
I feel like this change was brought about by KoG seeing that players liked Demersio's Dyad Skills, but not understanding why they like them.
f
I am only 300,000 CP from being allowed in Teir 3. So that means I can only play 5 out of the 8 secret dungeons now and my favorite one is locked in tier 3.
great job on making the game even more p2w, now you need 5kk cp to farm at least some ed while effectively making the ed-drop reso useless.
30kk ed is basically 0 ed when lazy people can farm it in 1 run instead of putting effort to grind sd's daily. worst change since the support skills cp cap.
well done kog
at least the exp is good so it's not completely bad.
Everyone on KR has that CP though, for them it's not p2w and it's fair since endgame players have 1 way of farming ED that's actually in a dungeon that requires 3m+ cp
Shadow mine, Master Road, and SDs are not endgame, we had nothing.
huh?
i highly doubt new players on kr spawn with 5kk cp
"we had nothing"....
it's obvious that endgame content sells the best and everyone should know that? there's abyssal stones which sell for 30-50kk each while the big ones sell for like 200kk (probably even more on other servers).
you mentioned the tasma farm yourself which is much more efficient in the first place, and it's not like you couldn't just jump into sd to make money lol.
well now the mid tier - lower tier players "have nothing", congrats.
but god forbid! the poor whales have no ed and needed to do some grinding instead of lazily selling coins and spam abyss.
terrific.
You didn't get my point at all and you guys do is complain about a change that you haven't experienced yourselves, it's always like that. I'm not defending KOG but they have ALWAYS prioritized newbies.
Abyssal stones are scarce, even with the new drop rate. Plus they are a weekly run thing + giant raid boss. Endgame had tasma and that's it for their farm. I am a f2p player so go easy on the "salt" about whales ffs. There's literally no point in going above and beyond in gear if you can make 300m daily on subs that have like 300k CP. I don't want to spam dungeons that are like 3-6 years old, I wanted endgame content and I wanted more ways to farm. Endgame requires much more ED to progress than actual mid/early game, it's not that much of a loss, while an early game player does a lot with 300m ED, it's not the same for someone with 6m-12m CP. You guys just wanna be able to make the same amount of ED a player that puts like 6+ hours daily in endgame dungeons without having gear lol Whales will not farm, they'll never farm no matter what kind of content they implement in the game cuz THEY HAVE MONEY. I am saying these things as someone who spams dungeons 5+ hours daily, so yeah, I LIKED the changes.
who do you refer to with "you guys"? i never said i didn't have endgame gear.
what justifies it to give players that have more cp more ed? it's true that endgame gear requires more ed but you have to get there first, which just gets harder if they make the good money making methods only accessible for said players.
i understood your point clearly, but you don't get that there is no need for a cp gap to take place. endgame players already get about 70kk from highlvl dungeons just from the weekly ed missions.
"There’s literally no point in going above and beyond in gear"
the point is to access endgame content early and that's how it should be, not to get special benefits like getting more ed for no reason.
it would have been fine if they just made all sd's accessible for everyone to make it fair, it's REALLY not hard to see that this update is bad for the overall economy just to favour the top players.
As someone who's still stuck in the 1~2m range, I... actually kind a little bit of KoG's logic here. It's only natural that dungeons that are harder to clear should give better rewards.
That being said, I am starting to see your logic as well. Though I can't fully understand it because I'm not able to start working on my Tenebrous armor or farm Tasmas yet, so I don't have a solid idea on whether endgame players actually do make enough ED relative to the costs of endgame.
yes, that is why dungeons that you farm for ed shouldn't be hard in the first place, they should be easy to clear so everyone can do them.
endgame costs are a general problem, there should be more ways to make some ed, but like in a lot of cases kog takes the wrong approach and removes a decent way to make ed for lower players and gives it to high tiers only.
and no, you won't make more ed than before, it's the opposite. maybe now you just have to run once instead of investing half an hour for the same ed.. in return you can only do it 5 times a week while before you could do your 30m all 7 days or spam as long as you had stam pots, which includes my usual 700m - 1b on 2x drop events in conta spam and well yea, i doubt that will still be possible after these changes.
So what are supports gonna do soloing the 5 mil CP SD? Upgrade their gear for dps now? Imagine clearing that SD with Ras or Bluh and maybe DA now. They will spend 30 min trying to clear the SD. Not to mention kog chose to make a SD the worst dungeon with the most annoying boss. Some characters will have trouble fighting that boss.
Deym, guys. Why are you all so worked up on this trash game? Just switch to warframe or private server WoW
Kindly fuck off
Like I said last time, I'd rather have party play Secret Dungeons with better rewards. But I guess this is alright... at least we don't need tickets anymore. Shame we can no longer get the SD armor/accessories, though.
The new title is kind of bad imo. So are the new accessories. I'll probably get the accessories for Magic Wardrobe, but I have no intention of including them or the title in my builds.
the acc and title are improving the EXP/ED from the secret dungeons only, they are not great but also not bad since no other EXP or ED increases work in the new Secret dungeons.
I suppose that is a good point, but as things stand right now, I already have builds planned for all of my equipment pages, and I don't see an absolute need to make SD-specific builds (yes, the extra EXP and ED would be nice, but I can deal without them). Though if they do ever increase the maximum number of equipment pages, then I will use them for SD builds (I've already added said builds to my Excel spreadsheet in case it does happen).
before planning too far ahead, lets see what they actually do with these..
but in any case, i ain't seeing the new rigo sd any time soon.
Eh, my current planned builds just happen to already be pretty compatible with this new "Forgotten Gold" set (that's what I'm gonna call it until we know the official name for the set). I just don't want to have to manually swap things out just to get the SD benefits, and as I said before, I've already got builds for all my equipment pages. I basically just added sections to my spreadsheets to separate what's different from my already planned builds and what my SD builds would be if more equipment pages got added.
Remember, I wasn't even gonna use these new accessories and title until Runli said what they said.
Anyway, I'm going under the assumption that the Forgotten Gold accessories have the same identifications as the Primal Gold set, but I'll adjust their identifications in my SD build when we learn what they actually have.
Okay, I kinda understand why my comment about artificial usefulness was downvoted, but why was this comment downvoted as well?
This just hit me, but isn't this basically artificial usefulness, cause they're blocking out other forms of ED/EXP Gain increase?
This is starting to feel like when they prevented Luto Mode from increasing El Resonance EXP all over again!
Speaking of which, give back Luto Mode, KoG!
This is just an idea I came up with, but maybe they could revamp Luto Mode into something like Hell Mode? It would have to have a higher CP requirement (maybe even higher than the new SD), but it would give more EXP and ED than Normal Mode SDs.
I also think it should have a separate entry count from Normal Mode, so that players would still have a reason to run them.
I know that the new secret dungeons already give EXP, but it would be nice if they gave you at least 2 fixed resonance levels a week, that way you avoid the fatigue of farming resonance like crazy. I like that they're taking the route of time-gated things instead of RNG.
The person who downvoted this is surely the typical trash player who wants the game to follow the same old boring route for years.
I think this would be nice to have as well. Resonance can take forever to farm, especially as your level gets higher.
KoG: We heard you guys were struggling to make ed, so we're gonna make it even harder from now on. You're welcome.
KoG logic at it's finest.
How about getting competent employees that can deal with hackers and bots appropriately?? How does this change help at all?
While we don't know what happens internally over at KoG, we can guess that they deal with botting groups by playing wack a mole (at least in kr, NA is just sleeping). I'm guessing that they decided that this approach isn't working so they try to make botting less worthwhile.
This would work well if they had a good progression curve going already, however newbies don't like to grind erp, they rarely optimize grinding for items, and being stuck at berthe is still a thing just because of how raids force group play.
KoG has made improvements and solutions that would work if this was a different game or if they implemented more of them faster, we really need a good ed sink in the game and remove ed gain as a stat altogether + normalize ed rewards in the game to reward anyone who progresses.
Agreed with most of this. I'm still unable to finish my Vestige stages cause I can't get good parties to grind them with.
As for ERP, I'm honestly kind of sick of farming Trosh and nothing else. This change at least makes SDs a decent place to get EXP, but with entries being limited and EXP increases from sources other than the new accessories and title not applying to them, it's probably still gonna take a while to raise my ERP level.
I agree with needing an ED sink, but disagree with removing the ED gain stat. But that's just because I don't want my ED farming nerfed.
if it was a daily then sure but its a weekly oof
It's five times a week, though. Yeah, it would still be better if it was daily, but that's still 1b EXP each week.
we said we wanted to GRIND coins KOG ... NOT have another weekly with dripfed coins that arent enough to do anything
While this is a good first step in the right, it will take more side content and reward shifts to make the game better. Their overall inability to deal with botting groups from popping up in the first place and making changes that punish the players instead is concerning. (Examples: no unlim stam weekends/way less unlim stam events, hell NA stopped giving unlim stam for maint extentions. And overall nerf to early ed making methods instead of making endgame more rewarding is questionable)
let this be lesson to you all never ask something to kog they certainly will make it harder or worse
