03/27 Patch Notes - Wilting Tower Dungeon Separation
27 March 2025
Wilting Tower Dungeon Separation
The Wilting Tower dungeon in the Doom Aporia raid will be split into Wilting Tower: Arc (Phases 1 and 2) and Wilting Tower: Ruin (Phase 3).
The recommended party size, combat power, demon realm debuff, and armor restrictions will remain the same.
Clearing Wilting Tower: Arc grants access to Wilting Tower: Ruin.
All party members must clear the same stage of Wilting Tower: Arc to enter Wilting Tower: Ruin.
When entering Wilting Tower: Ruin, the difficulty will be determined by the last cleared stage of Wilting Tower: Arc.
To obtain repeatable rewards and Undead Dragon's Heart Fragment, players must clear Wilting Tower: Arc followed by Wilting Tower: Ruin.
Once Wilting Tower: Ruin is cleared, re-entry will be restricted. Players must clear Wilting Tower: Arc again to regain access.
The conditions for the Undead Dragon's Will - Mortal Weapon growth quests will be adjusted.

"Opinionated" "Poisonous" Barkat "the Self-Righteous"
is the intention for her title something like... "Toxic"?
I can imagine that being a jab at certain members of the playerbase.
And it completely flying over their heads.
tbf, coming from these devs, with the pompous story they're telling now and the themes in it, and with the way they're handling everything else in the game in relation to that, any part of the playerbase who'd recognize that call out can rightly retort, "you wanna add 'the hypocrite' to her title too? "self-unaware" will also work."
Sorry, but I'm not quite understanding what you're saying here.
oh. to clarify: i agree with those titles possibly being jabs at a lot of the playerbase that's merited.
if "a deranged oracle acting on her ambitions by using a long-winded and convoluted scheme to get a dragon zombie and use its power as her raid gear to have enough adapt to wreck another dimension for a dubious cause" is supposed to reflect the hardcore players, then that's on point and they have it coming.
but because the story they're telling and the themes in it (hypocritical anti-self-sacrifice whining up the wazoo, supposedly rational historical perspectives using really suspect logic to put together info pulled out of their butts to retcon inconvenient plot and lore details that have had years to settle into a fandom's collective memory, all in wrapped up in a narrative sprinkled with flavor text so self-unaware in its pretentious edginess that would make any but the most cringe chuuni side-eye it)
exists in the same game where they've pulling the crap that they've been pulling the (festering a time and effort draining power chase that's led to a culture of normalized demands for sacrificing everyone else's time and stuff for one's own power and whining about people not being optimized for that cause, the constant "that's impossible and it can't be done" then they're forced to make it be done followed by semi-subtly backtracking on the changes they were forced to make in the most asinine way)
then basically,
- if "a deranged mastermind wannabe stringing along a whole legion of hardcore power-hungry lunatics with a knack for being pretentious windbags to try to justify and maximize her own spurious gain using dubiously executed methods and contradictory rationales that show they're not that great at working with people (and the big numbers they like seeing) at all (but it works anyways because the legion is actually that up their own butt)" is supposed to resemble anyone to the players, then some of them might see the the devs in that, even if they might also see themselves in her as well.
"ugh, it's so unreasonable for people to make a mistake repeatedly with this many mechanics going on, especially since I did such a good job helping them learn them, and now they're GuTtInG raids by not putting newer players through the difficulty I went through?!?!!?!"
the devs dealing with the results of their desperation-concocted bad game design and being forced to make things slightly less of a garbage slog gets called... gutting the game. but removing flashy animations in a weeb pandering action (?) mmo just so they can satisfy their superstitious number-addiction in a game with this much rng and making some older dungeons inaccessible despite their code definitely being still on our machines is improving the game? endgame raid regulars are some of the most delusional and entitled kinds of gamers, and no respect or admiration is warranted for their efforts or "accomplishments". i reiterate: vegas gamblers are a much less pathetic kind of chance addicts.
but yeah, no, splitting off the last 2 chunks of a 6 chunk raid dungeon was actually not something i saw coming. with the way it's put together, wilting tower really does look like it's own small (?) raid. also didn't expect them to only require the bend-over part for stages 4 and 5 of the weapon advancement; so i was asking: but are people really just going to not do the last part? but then i remembered: oh yeah, we get no resets past berthe, and the heart chunks aren't one of the repeatable rewards.
... does the weapon staging for SoA and UDW consume the fragments you get only once a week?
also, glad the the og event maid and butler sets are coming back, and i guess now we can get their non cross-dressed versions without cashing.
that is a... legally distinct pet, huh. no disliking it, i think it's very adorable. but it's also a very familiar shape.

I agree with you here. I honestly kinda wish they'd bring back the removed dungeons. Pre-Elrianode's story feels kinda short imo, and it honestly kinda feels like Elesis basically just passed through Feita even though her class story shows her staying there for a short time with the reason varying depending on her class path (though how and why Elly went from Feita to Hamel and back to Feita in the Adrestia path confuses me).
Speaking of the story, it honestly doesn't feel like it justifies the age changes from class advancement for pre-Laby characters. I mean, seriously, they're basically saying that the journey from Ruben to Bethma took just as long as the journey from Feita to Elrianode. If they just make the 1st Jobs one year younger, it'd make a lot more sense since there's a confirmed timeskip between Altera and Feita.

I hope so. I have part of that set for one of my Aras, and I'd honestly like to finish it. Though since they're bringing this back, I'm kinda hoping they bring back the April Fools Butler/Maid event as well (I like how the cross-dressed Butler costume looks, and I could use that on some of my female chars).
i only just now realized that in kr, this did release on the week that has april 1 in it, so the maid/butler set is timely in that regard.
