Developer Notes

This balance patch is based on play data from the Serpentium Raid and Doom Aporia Raid, following the completion of all updates to base job advancement Force Skills.

Using the synergy balance patch from February 27 as a reference, we assessed whether characters possess sufficient offensive capabilities based on their current synergy effects. Characters deemed lacking were adjusted accordingly.

The patch not only enhances party damage output through attack power increases, received damage boosts, and defense reductions but also considers overall synergy effects such as action speed, cooldown adjustments, attack power reductions, damage mitigation, and healing to optimize gameplay versatility.

Following this direction, balance adjustments will involve numerical tweaks to skills and passives, along with structural improvements that have the greatest impact on a character’s offensive capabilities. This includes modifications to unique systems, changes to passive effects, and improvements to skill cycles for faster execution.

Additionally, we have taken player feedback from the balance discussion forums into account to improve skill usability and address inconveniences related to synergy application and maintenance.

Furthermore, certain Dominator skills have been modified due to excessive lag issues in raid gameplay. We have made these changes while minimizing the impact on the overall raid experience.

  • [Mod] Starfall: Reduced hit count but increased attack power.

  • [Mod] Particle Accelerator: Install - Zero Trust: Adjusted to prevent excessive stacking from rapid consecutive hits.

We sincerely appreciate the patience of all adventurers who have waited for this balance patch and shared their feedback. Beyond balance adjustments, we will continue to listen to your opinions and strive to reflect them in development and service improvements.

I wonder if they'll change the skill animation for Eve and Lu/Ciel's buff skills since they're now self buffs like the multiple Rose and Herrscher's self buffs.

Doubt it. They're only changing how the Skill applies its effect, not reworking it to be practically a different Skill.

Hmm... I'm not sure I'm understanding the new Memorize system correctly. Can someone explain it to me please?

Kog's description is incredibly vague. You will have to wait for the patch to go live, but the general idea is, you don't use skills through memorize anymore - rather, you store them to increase damage. Pressing V removes the stored skill while resetting its cooldown. I'm guessing that memorizing itself does not trigger skill cooldown anymore, we'll see what it really is though.

base class buffs getting restricted like that is... going to tick people off. i'm not super bummed by it (yet), but i know this won't be looked at well.

lag from DoM? well okay, but i'm more concerned for when C:E and AV turning computers into griddles when they're played at full capacity with effects on medium, and i ain't seeing any addressing of that.

so under what circumstances can we see Elboy and Elesis's default battle stances now? and also, these speed buffs are okay, but now i'm wanting a speed adjustment thing for studio in case we actually want to, y'know, see what's going on.

so overall, this seems like a very not awful patch. i'm honestly always going to be kinda not okay with any character animations being less there in any circumstance (either by going way too fast or by being removed), even if i recognize the utilitarian purpose of the speed buffs. yeah i know, take off the speed enhancing gear that i can if i want to see stuff so bad, i get that. but overall, i like the buffs done here, even if i can't say this overrides /undoes the damage from the last patch.

Lag for DoM is a joke compare to MaP spam skills

PO is more taxing than DoM on medium effects for compact machines, and she's hasn't really been all that taxing since 64-bit. (though i still sometimes warn people about her lag-making since the rockets are still a lot of entire 3-d objects rapidly spawning into the screen with their exhausts and explosions)

Removing it from the code? Not happening lmao. They are scared of removing anything (in case it breaks - that's what you get for maintaining a 20-year old codebase based on a custom engine) so even though they claim that old stats like accuracy and evasion don't exist anymore, they are still in the code.

do epic npcs, sinister intent enemies, and el hall mobs essentially "draw" (so to speak) from the code chunks that the playable characters are founded on, or are they their own code chunks?

'cause they manage to retain a lot of the older stuff, effectively being time capsules of a class at a given era.

WHY THE FUCK DID THEY MAKE DESTRUCTION AURA AND AURA OF PUNISHMENT ONLY APPLY TO THE CASTER?! I really hope they reverse this change.

i notice they only hit the base class auras with that change, so all the eve and luciel classes that don't have an ok supporting kit at minimum just lost an option (and likely their best one at that).

my guess for the reason: class change enticement.

Yeah, I don't think this is gonna make the people who play Lv. 99 Base Class Eve/LuCiels decide to stop using Base Class.

This wouldn't be as big of a deal imo if they at least added effects to a Passive for each path that made them AoE.

Adrian to Eve is the better comparison, for sure. It would be nice to explore what is going on with Ishmael and all of the other things, but I am starting to doubt if we ever gonna leave Demon Realm...

Um... how is Bluhen being a "generic whiny adult" about not being able to contact Ishmael when his conclusion as to why he can't was that something happened to her? His outbursts were because of Lu and Ciel being demons because he was programmed by Ishmael to hate demons, and that hatred was also amplified by the Henir energy that had infected him, but he still overcame that and accepted those two as allies.

Also, Herrscher and Opferung were also having their emotions amplified, Herrscher by Henir energy and Opferung by demonic energy (as well as Henir energy). Combined with the fact that their emotional influence is happening much sooner than on the Bluhen path, he clearly wasn't as resistant to them as Bluhen was, especially since Bluhen had to tolerate working with Lu and Ciel and had a brief moment of losing himself to exposure to demonic energy in Feita before his emotional influence from Henir energy even started.
