Developer Notes

Through the maintenance on August 3rd (Thursday), in addition to the new area and armor changes, the improvements announced on July 28 (Friday) will be reflected.

Some systems existed as fun hurdle elements in dungeons.
They were meant to be quirky features of the gameplay, but started to interfere with the flow of dungeon play after some time.
We've gathered opinions from adventurers about the inconvenient situations while playing normal dungeons.
The following improvements will be made:

  • Among the random mission completion conditions, some were difficult, such as "attack the enemy n times in a row", "don't get hit more than n times", "use Active skill n times", etc.
    We will alleviate this issue by removing/changing these conditions.

  • Certain elixirs were interfering with the flow of dungeon play.
    Negative effect potions, such as the big head potion, will be removed to ease the gameplay experience in dungeons.

We have also improved the lack of clear explanations for elixirs and consumables that currently lack them.
As adventurers requested, it would be nice to be able to clearly check detailed effects of items.
Extra information will be added to tooltips. However, not all items will be updated in this patch.
We will roll out these changes sequentially.

In this update, we limited the selection to items that are most frequently used.
Apples and some elixirs will be improved first.

When adventurers play dungeons, there is an inconvenience where the Adaptation Elixir duration does not match the Gate of Darkness buff duration.
To alleviate this issue, the Adaptation Elixir buff duration will be increased from 20 to 30 minutes.

Regarding the problem of supply and demand of Demon Realm Energy from Gate of Darkness, we will make it tradeable.

Also, since 'The Setting Sun' has become crucial for progression, we decided to reduce the counts needed to complete the title. Along with this, the unlock conditions for 'Freed Shadow' will also be eased.

Finally, the delayed inventory UI update is coming packed with new features for convenience of use.

Added a function that allows you to quickly find any item in your inventory and point at it immediately.
You now can peek at Pet Inventory without summoning the pet.
More pages added to the inventory.
In addition to this, some items will have their max stack count increased for more generous inventory space management.
More functions will also be added, so please refer to the notice below for details.

New Area - Dungeon Update - Monaterra

A new area is added along with new dungeons.

  • You can enter the Monaterra area by clearing the Epic Quest: 'Enter Monaterra'.

  • An entrance ticket (Torta Gang's Invitiation) is required to enter the 'Torta Arena'.

  • The invitation can be obtained as a daily reward when playing dungeons in the Monaterra region.

Additional Upgrade System

New Item - Harconium Tuning Reactor

The Harconium Tuning Reactor, an item inspired by the machinery of Monaterra, will be added.
It is used for armor enhancement.

You can obtain this item by directly looting it in the Monaterra region's dungeons or by collecting Harconium Steel and crafting it through NPC Vasili in the Magmelia village and apply it on the Tenebrous armor.

  • Harconium Steel can be obtained by dismantling the Harconium Tuning Reactor.

  • The Harconium Tuning Reactor can be obtained in the dungeons 'Golden Sage Medovine', 'Hunter's Hideout', and 'Torta Arena'.

Armor Upgrade

This system allows you to strengthen the Tenebrous armor even further.

You can apply the additional effects of the Harconium Tuning Reactor as upgrades to the Tenebrous armor.

When a full set (4 pieces) of the Tenebrous armor is equipped with the upgrade effects unlocked, the upgrade effects will be activated.

  • Even if the effects are not the same, having a full Tenebrous set equipped with upgrade effects unlocked will still activate them.

  • Information about the upgrade effects for Tenebrous armor will be available on the website guide after the maintenance on 08/03 (Thursday).

Convenience Improvements

  1. Characters participating in the Guild Expedition will now be able to 'Guild Expel' and 'Guild Leave'.
    If there are any unclaimed Guild Expedition rewards at the time of leaving or expulsion, they will be immediately sent to the mailbox.

  2. The duration of the Adaptation Elixir buff will be increased to 30 minutes.

  3. Debuff potions - Dwarf Elixir and Giant Head Elixir will be removed in dungeons/fields.

  4. Demon Realm Energy and potions crafted with it will be tradeable.

  5. Some conditions for random mission completion in dungeons will be removed or improved.

  6. To provide clearer guidance on the effects of consumable and elixir items, certain item descriptions will include information about their effects and duration.

Inventory and Pet Inventory Improvements

During the maintenance on 08/03 (Thursday), the inventory will be changed to match the new UI design.

  1. By clicking the hourglass icon on bottom left, you can check all time-limited items in your inventory.

  2. Added an ability to lock specific items in place to prevent their position from being changed when sorting.

  3. Can now search for items in the inventory.

    • When searching for an item, a list is displayed as shown on the image below, and when a list item is clicked, the inventory points at the item's location in the inventory.

    • Items that are equipped (including Life and Artifacts) or left in Bank or Pet Inventory will not be included in search results.

  4. The maximum number of expandable pages for the equipment ~ avatar tabs is increased.

  5. Cube items (such as Glaciem Ore, Tasma Aura Mass, etc.) will be improved so that you can open multiple at once.

  6. Selection Cube items (such as Antique Seed Selection Pouch, Mystical Elixir Box, etc.) can also be opened multiple times at once.

  7. Improved so that you can use the Pet Inventory even without summoning the pet.

    • Even if the pet is sent to Expedition or placed in the El House, it will be displayed on the Pet Inventory list.

    • You cannot use the Pet Inventory while using a feature that interacts with the Inventory.

  8. The mouse cursor image while using Inventory is changed to match the new UI design.

Other UI Improvements

  1. The information popup that appears when unlocking and obtaining a title will be changed to match the new UI design.

  2. The Ice Burner UI will also be changed to match the new design.

  3. The maximum stack count of some items will be increased.

  4. The Party List UI is changed to match the new UI design.

  5. The party leader will also be able to see the full Party List UI.

  6. The party information in the Party List UI and the party recruitment UI are improved so that the El Resonance of the character is immediately displayed.

  7. After selecting a dungeon in the Party List creation form, the Dungeon Select UI will be set to that dungeon upon opening.

  8. Cooldown for application to the same party added.

  9. After joining a party, you can view the El Resonance, Combat Power and other details of party members at a glance with a new UI.


  10. The "El Shard Identification Device" is changed to be used when crafting at Ariel.

Character Balance Patch

As announced earlier, a balance patch will be applied during this maintenance. Reminder - the balance patch continuity has been halted for now. Read more: [LINK]

Event 1) 2 weekly quests can be performed during this event. Clear 3 matching level dungeons a day to acquire various items.
Event 2) Play Monaterra dungeons to acquire Harconium Steel.
Event 3) Weekend 2x EXP/Drop to commemorate the update.

Event 1) Stay logged in for 10 minutes to receive [CoBo] Lucky Enhancement Cube x2.

Fixes / Improvements

Character

  1. An issue where opponent time stop cancels [Force] Ignite has been fixed.

  2. Code: Antithese - fixed Genome Decipher MP recovery increase effect not applying.

  3. Fixed "Nocturne of Hernia" not being visible for LuCiel in the Magic Wardrobe.

  4. Fixed hair dye preview displaying differently from the actual color on the Trading Board for LuCiel.

Dungeon / PvP / Field

  1. Fixed an issue where portraits of characters who died in Ereda Island were not deactivated.

  2. Fixed random mission buffs applying in Ereda Island.

  3. Fixed an issue where NPC speech bubbles were not visible in dungeons.

  1. Fixed an issue where the "Physical / Magical Attack Power Increase by 1% per 8% Damage Reduction stat" socket abnormally increased the Combat Power.

Other

  1. Fixed Reforge ED fee displaying incorrectly when Reforge Gauge is at 100%.

  2. Fixed Auto Consumption slots not being updated when discarding consumable items set in the Auto Consumption slots.

  3. Pet Auto Consumption - corrected text placement to look even.

  4. When receiving a certain amount of Movement / Jump Speed Decrease, the problem of the opposite happening is corrected again.

  5. Reforge Amulet, Physical / Magical Mystic Stone Swap Ticket, 2nd Job Advancement Ticket, 3rd Job Advancement Ticket, Guild Storage Expansion Ticket and Pet Nickname Change Ticket are improved so that you can use them in all villages, guild base and El House.

  6. Fixed incorrect information in the Sell Item UI window displaying under certain circumstances.

I'd say it's because it's now applied as a buff rather than only healing people in its range each tick, but even then I think that it should've gotten buffed instead.

I really feel like they should buff them instead when they are turned to buff as they lose the ability to stack giving in turn less HP/MP

Now that we know that LuCiel's non-representing character still contributes to HP, Attack, and Defense, does anyone know any good builds I can put on my non-representing characters?

To be honest, I'm actually looking for two separate builds. One that only uses normal Costumes/Accessories (only ones that I can get at any time, so no limited-time ones) and one that makes use of Ice Burners.

Actually, never mind on the Ice Burner build, turns out I can max out their HP just with the Fantastic Power hair, SWAT Set effect, and magic stones (in addition to what I already had planned for my character builds), and the difference in the attack values between normal costumes and IBs is negligible imo. I just need Magical Attack and Physical Attack accessory builds now.

What do you mean? This buff stays in. They removed the debuff that makes your head big and reduces your jump speed.

I personally like the Dwarf Elixer. I mean, yeah, the range reduction sucked, but it wasn't to the point that it annoyed me, and the 10 MP per second was nice to have. Shame it's getting removed imo, but I can see why others don't like it.

In Elsword, all effects are called 'sockets', even those coming from weapon stage or set effects. The same system is used to keep them in the database.
