Developer Notes

Based on data obtained from your gameplay - attack support in the end screen window, character play rate and the type of synergy, we are introducing a follow-up patch to the new mod skill update. The focus was on synergy of characters in the roster (party buffs/debuffs).

In addition to numerical changes, we also considered efficient skill usage and redistributed skill cooldown synergy. We believe it has a great impact on damage output.

Due to the accessory slot expansion update and new mod skills, there are characters who have too much synergy compared to their damage, and thus needed nerfs. For example, Demersio and Avarice were employed in almost every single party within the healer role. DPS characters with synergy like Comet Crusader (physical parties) and Prophetess (magical parties) have also shown excessive performance.
In addition to Dius Aer, Gembliss and Richter, which were mentioned in the previous developer notes, characters that are rarely picked up have been buffed by supplying party buffs.
Skill cooldown synergy will be on our watchlist for the future.

Since we are only covering the synergy aspect in this balance patch, there might be parts that still need an improvement in terms of overall character balance. Another balance patch on March 27th will be based on Serpentium and Doom Aporia raid gameplay according to our data and player feedback.
The plan is to monitor changed characters with the February patch, and adjust their personal damage in the March patch if necessary. Characters that did not receive any changes in this patch might also see some on March 27th.

The next balance patch aims to improve characters in general. However, for characters considered solid, there might be no changes.

Is it hard to add some Damage Reduction for the giant boss?(Twisted Time and Space - Fahrmann's Peak, Titan's Grotto, Plegas's Labyrinth, The Great Steel Wall) I think these dungeons are also at the same level as Reid, so I think they are necessary information. It would be nice if there was any information from all the dungeon bosses, but if it's difficult, it would be nice if there was just some information from the giant boss.

I just wish my Flame Lord was playable, but she's a character in KR, no one has her as a main character or those who do have her think she's good but never use her.

Anyway, something I really want to change in the game's vision is that they would let DPS characters actually have real DPS and not like it is now, where characters that have 0 buffs and are only focused on damage are generally weaker than hybrid characters. I still don't see the point in nerfing characters for PVE. It drives a lot of players away from the game and discourages a lot of people from using the class that was nerfed. The ideal would be to balance dungeons/raids.

At this point just make the gear/weapon bankable to save the hassle of picking classes of the same character

so. . . . what was the point of gutting merciless Revenge's Utility? and Why should I have to accept that all of my raven choices are DPS/ semi-synergetic DPS instead of having at LEAST one Support option with the Raven DNA?(even though it's debatable on whether RV is even considered a support/buffer or synergetic DPS.)

I know that there's other support options, I do have a AV,and she's not bad. But I like playing Raven, and wished that RV (or at least one of his paths in general) had a more Decicated Supportive dynamic, as it does suck a lot of dogwater being locked out of raids and having to rely on characters that I'm not fully invested in. and RV may have some support, but besides his CDR and PoTD, I believe that people see his kit and support as abyssmal, and now it's in a deeper level of abyssmality due to not having his Debuff Duration on Merciless. But hey, more damage I guess. His sprout Debuff is stronger, which is nice? but I still believe he needs some more supportive utility.

And If I am wrong. I'd like to know why, and see some solutions, or be persuaded that this is leading to a better outcome.

Which in my opinion: it may be nice to have variety, but being locked out of "pure progression (doing the content on a character you choose instead of Farming on an alt to boost your main)" Just makes the game a bit more of a chore than a level of enjoyment. I expect grind, but I'd like to at least enjoy it to some extent.

Maybe I just need a break. Hope you guys are well, able to stay well, or get well.

They don’t care bro. They stated that all characters have their role set in stone.

Though I definitely agree that every class should have at least one healer because currently, picking a class like Raven means bricking your account as a new player.

"thrive" in the current state of things would likely say, "just use the time-staggered job changes to temporarily switch to a character that hardcore raid spammers want in their desperate min-maxed parties, then you can go back to your main, that's just normal/that's how things just are/that's not so hard/it's that easy/it is what it is/[other excuses to wallow in mediocrity]," while expecting you to put up with their whiny and obnoxious attempts at humor and banter that's somehow more insufferable than stereotypical (gacha) gamer talk.

which is a trashy gambling addict response to a weeb-pandering action(?) game. (which i admit to getting heated up about too much)

...and which i now realize through re-reading that none of what i just said is actually all that relevant to your situation because you already are on the most support-oriented class of your character, and your thing is something i'd say Elboy and Rose players can probably relate to.

I'd argue it can still apply, because If I want to progress in the game after this patch, I may have to lean towards AV instead of RV. and your words do highlight a issue that a good chunk of players can relate too.

and believe me, a good chunk of Ravens can relate to it, even now, and even more for some RVs who did lose a good amount of their previous supportive appeal (eg: Catacomb nerfs, Debuff duration removals on his Merciless, Debuffing values being decreased,etc. )

Edit: To add on: Do not apologize for having a bit of heatedness or ire for the situation you're witnessing. better to say what you think, and speak about what you're seeing, instead of treating a issue that you're seeing as "non-existent".

unplayable this, unplayable that, more than half the classes in the game are worse than unplayable by those standards, and it's never not been the laziest kind of whining that keeps things as bad as they are because it shows that the community can't find solutions that don't miss the actual problems in something that they completely fail to find as well (and i can say that unironically because "but the numbers" is exactly how the devs are screwing up, as they demonstrate above). if the way someone plays anyone in this game is reliant only on a couple percent-based buffs and debuffs, then they never actually knew how to play that class in the first place.

honestly, most of the classes people want in raids don't even feel that great to control, but people let that slide because they let the devs make them obsessed with and addicted to demanding that others learn to keep up with clunky gimmicks to get that extra eighth of a percent boost of damage. play the classes and the game in a less stupid way (i.e. not as solely or obsessively reliant on asinine minmaxing and obsessive rpg wankery) and no one's unplayable, not even the classes with much worse control schemes.

does that mean getting locked out of end game or even late game because you're not participating in a farcical slog? sure, but given how things are now, that's not a horrible situation to get into. find fun outside of the part of the game that turns entertainment into a job with more ass math calcs than being an accountant for a shady employer.

(and yes, i do think this sucks, but i'm more bummed that a whole function of a skill that has it's own unique visual indicator is being gutted with no real compensation, and no the change to the other debuffing function that's on her combos ain't making up for that, and i'm the nutcase who still cares about combos in this game because those are what the controls control for playing the character)

Ikr? My favorite class to play is Immortal, and even though I'm still stuck at 1.5m CP, I'm still enjoying this game. I remember being told that he was a bad class, but honestly, I don't care, he's still the class that I synergize the most with. And I enjoy playing every class for one reason or another.

Also, I'm kinda OCD and have my Skills laid out in my Skill Slots in a specific order based on their Skill Type (and a couple other things) rather than their actual usefulness. I'm fully aware this isn't the best way to have them laid out, but it's what works for me.

It's not JUST about the character being unplayable but about treatment of the character as a whole. It's being ignored in the character movies AND is getting heavy nerfs when not ignored. I know other characters have it worse in terms of gameplay but that's not the only point.

I understand where you're coming from but minmaxing is just how most games are played in the endgame. Even in berthe I would constantly get denied from parties just for being a dps class with 2m cp. People complain about that for a reason, there is no solution to being gatekept out of the game for choosing the wrong character especially for a game that advertise itself as having "diverse and unique characters". Accepting bad situations will just turn them into horrible situations in the future. The more content the game gets the more likely newer players will be stuck on midgame content thus further gatekeeping newer players. Yes I know that's just how the game is and complaints like this will not make an impact on the company's decisions but what else can players do other than voice complaints?

funny you say that about RaS, because in a thread elsewhere people are complaining about how she's underperforming because her buffing and the way they're numerically applied are so much worse altogether than most other healers according to a calculations chart from a source the community finds reliable.

i personally don't get that because, seeing people play her and having played her, she's.... not worse than anyone else. she's actually like, maybe among the 3 least convoluted healers to optimally support with.

i plainly don't inherently or fully trust anything or anyone this community claims is reliable. not with all this rng to wade through.

The smarter way to go about it would have been to buff the weaker/less used characters and leave everyone else alone unless there was something exceptionally broken that needed to be fixed.

Meanwhile I'm still hoping they eventually fix some things with Enchanting, Imprinting, Reforging, and Artifact Socketing so they're less of a nightmare to deal with in some way or another (especially as someone trying to save ED for more fun things for my characters).

is a weird way to say "barely enough to get past the sheer storm of crap hurled our way" with the bloated reliance on skill spam.

they're looking at the numbers. uhuh, okay. y'know what, maybe in this kind of game, the numbers and the numbers about numbers aren't enough. some actual audiovisual inspection would be needed. but even given that, this begs the question: what manner of sewage do they get drunk on and force their employees to partake in to think and assume that a lot of this is can even be as good as a meh idea?!

ask for 4 bread crumbs to eat, they'll throw 2 crumbs into our eyes and 3 pieces of gravel into our footwear. the only balance these people know is negating and overriding the benefits of any actual improvement they make.
