02/15 Patch Notes - Secret Dungeon Weekly ED Nerf

Developer Notes
As a result of constant monitoring the ED obtained through dungeon clears, the patch that took place on November 9, 2023 and affected events up until now will be examined.
We believe that ED drops are now somewhat less polarizing. However, the total amount of ED acquired through Secret Dungeons is more than four times higher than before the change.
We also confirmed that the total ED generation has doubled compared to before the patch.
This goes beyond our intention before the rework.
If this situation continues, it is predicted that ED will be further devalued in the long term.
To prevent this, we would like to decrease some of the Secret Dungeon ED rewards.
Tiers based on Combat Power are operating quite smoothly, and allow players to continuously advance step by step. Obtaining ED at tier 1 and 2 is not excessive and ED can be easily achieved at early stages of playing the game.
These tiers would not change ED supply and demand, so we decided to only adjust tiers 3 and 4.

Since this part is directly connected to the game's economy, we are trying to approach it very carefully. We know how sensitive this topic is for adventurers.
However, with how significant this issue is regarding the economy and ED value, adjusting the rewards is a necessity.
Those changes will be applied after the regular maintenance on March 14th.
Even after the patch, we will continue our efforts in monitoring the ED situation to provide adventurers with a stable gaming environment.

[Event Details] During the event, you can obtain Exciting Cakes by clearing daily and weekly quests (5/15 times appropriate level dungeon).
Cakes can be gifted to characters. Depending on the cumulative number of cakes gifted, you can obtain rewards like Flower Rainy Day Cube and 3-tier cake furniture along with a special reward.

Rage Hearts - fixed Ground Crusher explosion hits being moved when facing away after casting the skill at high Action Speed.
Nova Imperator - fixed Ifrit Flame displayed an outdated value of Elemental Resistance Decrease in PvP.
Bluhen - fixed Harmony [Eid: Rein] effect not applying in Spiritualism Stage 3.
Avarice - fixed Improvement passive Maximize effect applying incorrectly. Fixed Forgotten Elrian Sanctum dramatic speech bubbles not appearing properly.

Why? Just why
I really wonder what a solution for the ED problem can really be, like what KOG is doing right now is just a Bots paradise, just get a few extra accounts and they will make ED really easy to get with the weeklies , im sure even if a phone is needed to register there is people that will just get cheap ones for this purpose.
Even what i think i would like better, it being the harder* the dungeon the better rewards it give , still comes with flaws , like it happened with Halted Sun Memory and Debrian lab, they were long/hard dungeons with great rewards, but as the equipment got better the difficulty just dissapeared.
With harder i just mean dungeons that take a bit more effort to complete for every clear like lets say :
Abandoned Deep sea Tunnel : it is a long dungeon with no real reason to run it again apart from getting past the story quests Icerite Plant : This one is short but it makes me wonder , why is it that we get less exp and ED than Trosh when we are killing like 3 times the amount of the same enemies and requieres extra hands to clear fast, i just suppose is because trosh has 3 bosses?
Every region has dungeons like this, dungeons that there is no reason to run again, and so they die fast and become imposible to find parties for them later on.
Fun ED sinks that don't revolve around progression or weekly upkeep like synergy. Atm mystic and reforge fees just gate newbies, if they remove those and add smth more for endgame players to spend then it would balance better. Either that or have a way for newbies to circumvent those ED sinks (stuff like rigo only reforge exemption tickets and maybe some mystic stones with guaranteed effects.)
Also yknow NA/INT need to keep gold farming groups in check, script kiddie groups atm are manually botting every dungeon up until outskirts. (Check 13-2 acc on board for the most blatant example (usually several pages of the accessory all for the same price by similar igns being put up 5-10 minutes of each other), but everything is pretty much being sold in scraps by alts, 10-20 mystic stones here, a stack of mag crystals there, glaciems ontop, every kind of entry ticket etc.)
Koreans are facing the issue of overgrinding, a lot of players live in 16-2 all day because they have nothing else to do. The game needs more fun side content. I think challenge raids are an ok start to keep those at the top busy but we need way more especially for mid/endgame players.
If they are going to nerf the ED in Seceret Dungeons then they should have also lowered the CP need to enter them. The reward is not worth the bs difficulty for those that have a CP under 5m.
I actually kinda agree with this. I understand them not wanting to ruin the economy, but I don't like reducing rewards without making the content that gave those rewards easier.
And here is the #1 issue as to why balancing around economy and copy/pasting the patch over to other server is a bad idea. Then again you can blame kog being utterly incompetent when it comes to making sure to no gold farming groups ravage the economy, and deciding to turn a blind eye to 99% of the rmt market.
WTF is this shitty nerf? It's not enough that you nerf normal dungeon ED farming, now you nerf the secret dungeon too? I went ham on my ED to squeeze every bit of CP to reach 2.5M and you did this shit?
Since this part is directly connected to the game's economy, we are trying to screw F2P very carefully. We know how sensitive this topic is for adventurers but not for us, so here you have this... xD But seriously how much free time has people in Kr? i mean the people that i know (including me) have to study/work or both, eat, sleep between other rl things, and they believe that we are gonna farm 24/7 just to go from 1.5m to 3m because we cannot upgrade or mystic enchant the right options to the weapons/armor for not having enough ed... wow KOG never stop surprising me...
Im back after 2 years because job and I can confirm 1 thing in your comments. Yeah, there are players that farm 24/7 elsword and EXACTLY the same people who I saw before, this kind of players are who feed KOG wallets with dads credit card or farm raids the whole day, you can see more activity with XP events. And you might be like "this dude is just talking sht about the player base" but its enough to just go to discord and see the playing time from an active player. (sometimes its +10 hours)
